The current australian insurance market is very wary of EPS & ACP used in the fit out or construction of buildings. Two key recent events being a major meat works fire in South Australia and the Grenfell Tower fire that both related to EPS caused insurers to harden their approach and rates to this material.
ACP are flat panels consisting of two thin coil
coated aluminium sheets bonded to a non-aluminium
core creating an aluminium composite material.
The standard ACP core is polyethylene (PE) or
polyurethane (PU). Typically, these materials are
considered combustible by the insurance industry.
